Waubonsee Community College invites prospective students, families, and community members to its Aurora Downtown Campus, 18 S. River St. on Tuesday, April 1.

Waubonsee Community College has experienced a significant enrollment growth of 15% for its spring 2025 semester, as compared to spring 2024.   

Waubonsee Community College, in collaboration with MELO Musicians’ Enduring Legacy Organization, presents “The Musicians’ Green Book: An Enduring Legacy,” a screening and exhibit experience from Monday, March 24 through Friday, March 28. This exhibit is free and open to the public.

Waubonsee student Audrie Schaubel’s first encounter with Open Educational Resources (OER) began at Rosary High School, where she conducted a research project on the monopoly of the textbook industry. At the time, the idea of free high-quality textbooks seemed more theoretical than practical. But just a year later, as a Waubonsee student, Schaubel experienced first-hand the cost savings and benefits of OER.

Waubonsee Community College, in partnership with the Kane County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) Preparedness Program is offering free Emergency Preparedness trainings for students, employees, and community members on March 4 and March 5 from 2 to 4:30 p.m.

Waubonsee Community College is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Tamekia Smith, of Flossmoor, as the Dean for Business and Social Science.

The Waubonsee Community College Board of Trustees has approved tuition rates for the 2025-2026 academic year. Beginning with the fall 2025 semester, the college’s in-district and online tuition rate will increase from $138 to $141 per credit hour. The student fee will remain the same at $8 per credit hour. 

 Waubonsee Community College is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Eric Aurand, of Tucson, Ariz., as the Dean for Mathematics and Science. Dr. Aurand brings experience in STEM education, leadership, and community engagement.
