Latinas Taking the Lead

Would you like to learn more about the education system along with developing your communication skills?

Sessions will be in Spanish and held at the Waubonsee Aurora Downtown Campus, 18 S. River St., Aurora in the Latinx Resource Center, Room 250.

The program will be six sessions, presented in Spanish, on the following topics:

General overview of Higher Education
Waubonsee’s Latinx Resource Center Offerings
Navigating the education system
Effective communication
Financial aid information, scholarships and saving for college
Community Resources
Professional development
Childcare and activities for participants’ children during all sessions (children must be able to use the bathroom).
Snack for participants and children.
A $150 stipend upon completion of the program (must attend at least five of the six sessions)
A welcoming environment where participants can learn from experts and meet and talk to other local Latina women.
