

Waubonsee Community College, in partnership with the Kane County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) Preparedness Program is offering free Emergency Preparedness trainings for students, employees, and community members on March 4 and March 5 from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
Each session is a one-day, two-hour workshop held at two locations: Waubonsee’s Sugar Grove Campus Academic and Professional Center and Waubonsee’s Aurora Downtown Campus.
These sessions are open to individuals aged 18 and over. Participants will gain valuable knowledge on essential topics, including:
- Weather and natural disaster preparedness
- Basic gun safety
- Basic first aid
- Emergency supply readiness for various settings
"Emergency Preparedness is all about building a more resilient community,” said Beth Drendel, Kane County OEM Preparedness Specialist. “What people do before a disaster can make a dramatic difference in their ability to cope with and recover from a disaster.”
