April 4 Incident at Sugar Grove

There was NOT an active shooter on the Sugar Grove Campus on Tuesday, April 4. An emergency management training course was being held on campus, and a message was sent unintentionally to 911 dispatch as a result of those activities. We are very grateful to the local agencies who responded so quickly and to the members of the Waubonsee community who followed the college’s safety protocols.

Waubonsee Set to Meet High-Scoring Pima (AZ) at Nationals

Waubonsee Community College’s men’s basketball team will have a tough challenge ahead of them at the NJCAA Division II Men’s Basketball National Championship Tournament. The Chiefs (25-8) received the ninth seed and will play eighth seeded Pima (AZ) Community College (21-11), the highest scoring Division II junior college team in the nation, in the tournament’s opening game on Tuesday, March 21, beginning at 9 a.m.
