Waubonsee Community College will host comic ventriloquist Steve Brogan. The show will be on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. in the Auditorium on the Sugar Grove Campus.

People who want to attend college start their academic journey at many different places. Not all students are prepared for the rigor of college mathematics courses. The state of Illinois and colleges across the state are working to help those students get ready for college so that they can be more successful there. Waubonsee Community College is contributing to this effort of preparing students by offering a Math Bridge Program.

Waubonsee Community College will host events and activities from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, October 4 as part of First Fridays in downtown Aurora.

Many families know the challenge of getting children prepared for life after high school. With early college credit programs available, students now have assistance to prepare for college and beyond. Dual credit classes are one of those programs. These classes are college-level classes that provide both high school and college credit at the same time.

The Waubonsee Chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) achieved President’s Circle status for the 2018-2019 academic year.

As we have recently entered the new fall semester here at Waubonsee Community College, I spent some time reflecting on my initial experience as a member of the faculty at the college.

Waubonsee Community College will host a discussion titled, “Sifting Through the Ashes of Truth: John Peter Altgeld, The Press, and the Internet’s Fake News Conundrum.”

The changing seasons that come with September remind me of the quote from the Greek philosopher, Heraclitus, “change is the only constant in life.” Technology, the economy and shared cultural experiences all cause shifts in behaviors, priorities, and choices. These shifts create new opportunities and challenges that organizations must respond to. Relevant, dynamic organizations welcome these shifts and in that spirit we have launched Waubonsee’s new FY2020-FY2022 Strategic Plan.

Waubonsee Community College and the Fox Country Players will present their fall musical, Children of Eden!
