Waubonsee Community College’s Office of Faculty Development and Engagement began investigating one of the most flexible delivery for classrooms; something that could put students in control of where, when, and how they attend class either fully online, entirely in-person, or both. We knew we wanted something to be as flexible as possible. And that is when the class modality, Flex, was born.

Waubonsee Community College has announced the 2021 Support Staff Awards for Excellence at the July board meeting. One award was presented in each of three categories: Innovation and Creativity, Service and Quality, and Diversity and Inclusion.

Sugar Grove – The President’s List at Waubonsee Community College celebrates excellence among students who achieve a 4.0 grade-point average out of a possible 4.0 while enrolled in at least 6 semester credit hours.

Sugar Grove – The Dean’s List at Waubonsee Community College celebrates excellence among students who achieve a minimum 3.5 grade-point average out of a possible 4.0 while enrolled in at least 6 semester credit hours.

Waubonsee Community College is one of three colleges in Illinois and the only community college in the state to recently receive a Title V grant to strengthen and expand educational opportunities for Hispanic and low-income students, but that is only the beginning.

Students can prepare themselves to earn industry-standard IT certifications in cybersecurity with the Waubonsee Community College Cybersecurity Program.

In a year of extraordinary challenges, Waubonsee Community College answered the call to maintain a dynamic community where our students and employees can learn, work, and thrive. We explored the unknown together, and we carved new pathways forward. 

As Waubonsee's senior finance official, I think one of the most important things I can - and should – do is help stakeholders understand the college's financial health and circumstances. I don’t like to do this with lots of charts and numbers, but rather with some very basic and straightforward concepts. Think of this like finance or accounting for the non-major, or better yet, like a game of Taboo where I get to explain finance and accounting stuff but can't use numbers or dollar signs. 

Sugar Grove – Waubonsee Community College announces its 2021 Distinguished Contributor. The Kane County Health Department (KCHD) is a valuable community resource and, when faced with a global pandemic, has become invaluable in helping the college develop a pandemic response plan and is this year’s Distinguished Contributor.
