Search for "LockDown Browser Pearson" and launch it.
Log in to Pearson MyLab and start your test.

Special Version for ALEKS
ALEKS
When starting an ALEKS quiz or knowledge check requiring LockDown Browser, you will be prompted to download it if not installed. If it's installed, the assignment will launch it automatically.

4. Log in to ALEKS and start your test.

It is strongly recommended that you refer back to this page often to test your computer using the Respondus LockDown Browser. You should do this a few days before you plan to take a quiz so that you have enough time to address any technical issues. What are the computer requirements for Respondus LockDown Browser?
Operating Systems
Windows: 11 and 10*
* Includes x86 32 and 64bit processors and ARM 64bit processors using x86 emulation.
* Windows 10/11 "S mode" is not a compatible operating system, nor can LockDown Browser be obtained via the Windows App Store. At present, support for Windows 10/11 "S Mode" isn’t on the roadmap for LockDown Browser.
* Windows 10/11 "SE" is currently not a compatible operating system for LockDown Browser.
Mac: macOS 10.15 to 14.0+.
ChromeOS: LockDown Browser for Chromebook minimally requires the version of ChromeOS that Google makes available via their Long Term Support (LTS) channel. For more information, visit: https://chromereleases.googleblog.com/search/label/LTS
iPadOS: 12.0+ (iPad only). Must have a compatible LMS integration. The LockDown Browser iPad app is not compatible with Sakai LMS servers. All Sakai users will need to use a computer with a compatible operating system.
LockDown Browser and Respondus Monitor may continue to run in older operating systems that have reached “end-of-life” but students may encounter unexpected results.

Windows: 2 GB RAM (A minimum 4gb of available RAM is necessary when using LockDown Browser to take an exam that also uses a webcam.)

Can a Chromebook be used with LockDown Browser?
A Chromebook extension for LockDown Browser is available for exams delivered in Canvas.
To install the extension to a Chromebook, students will need to use the regular LockDown Browser installation link for your school (they will NOT be able to search for the app directly from the Chrome web store.) The LockDown Browser installation link will direct students to the Chrome web store, at which point they should select “Add to Chrome” to install the LockDown Browser Extension.
How should I prepare to take an exam using LockDown Browser?
Find a quiet, comfortable, private room or area to take your exam.
Inform family or housemates that you will be taking an exam. The presence of others will be detected by Respondus and could generate a report of suspicious activity.
Close all other applications and browser tabs
Clear the area of textbooks or other class materials.
Put away your phone and do not wear headphones or earbuds.
Turn off music, TV shows, movies, or podcasts.
If needed, position your webcam so that your face is illuminated, with no lights or windows behind you.
Upon set up, you may be asked to display a photo ID. Have your photo ID ready.
Can I use Kurzweil Read The Web with LockDown Browser?
Yes. LockDown Browser for Windows version 2.1.2.06 and higher offers a built-in Kurzweil Read The Web extension. Students will need a valid Kurzweil account in order to take advantage of this feature.
