Testing Center Policies

Policies

• A valid photo ID is required of all test candidates.
• Once an exam is started, it must be completed in one sitting, and additional work is not permitted after the time limit has ended.
• Food, drinks, hats, personal belongings and unauthorized materials, such as cell phones, calculators and other electronic devices, are not permitted in the testing room.
• Distracting and disruptive behavior is not permitted.
• You will not be allowed to begin an examination during the last 30 minutes that the testing center is open. The ACCUPLACER® WritePlacer test will not be administered 90 minutes before closing. See our hours of operation below. Closing times are strictly enforced regardless of exam time limit.
• Unattended children under the age of 16 are not permitted in the assessment center while a family member or adult guardian is testing.
• If a child under the age of 16 is taking a test, his/her adult guardian must remain in the assessment center reception area for the duration of the exam.

Prohibited items and unauthorized activity

• ALL personal belongings
• ALL electronics
• Food and drinks
• Hats and coats
• Book bags and purses
• Watches, including smartwatches
• Writing devices
• Cell phones, smart watches, Fitbits and wearable technology
• Devices with audio, photographic and internet capabilities
• Web browsing
• Unauthorized materials

Any suspicious behavior and/or the use of prohibited electronics in the testing center may result in having test stopped, phone/device confiscated by a test administrator, and a Testing Irregularity documented and sent to instructor(s) and/or the Dean for Student Engagement, plus possible escalation to the Student Conduct Board.
