Technology in the Library

We’re happy to support our students, faculty and community guests with a variety of technology resources in our campus libraries. If you need support with something that’s not listed, reach out to a librarian for more information.

Resources and Technology

Campus networked computers, preloaded with Microsoft Office software (must have X-number)
Network printers, with double-sided, brochure and color printing features
Wireless printing available at all campuses (PC and Mac compatible; must have X-number)
Wireless access throughout the building for students, staff and community users
Photocopier with color or b&w copying, and with scan-to-USB or scan-to-email (only scans to WCC email addresses), at all campuses (with X-number)
Access to the libraries’ physical collections and services
Access to all library databases from within the library; access off-campus to databases with X-number
Microfilm scanning on-demand
Smart boards
Computer classroom with teaching station for Library Instruction (Sugar Grove and Aurora Downtown)
Assistive technology (see below)
CD/DVD players on computers
Sugar Grove viewing area with DVD/Blu-ray Disc, VHS and CD/cassette tape players

Troubleshooting

To start, please contact the Library Reference Desk for all technology problems or questions.
If your password is not working or you've locked yourself out of computer system, the librarians at the Reference Desk will help you call the Technical Assistance Center (TAC). The library staff cannot give you your X-number.
To locate your print job or for assistance with printing, please contact the Reference Desk.
Need headphones? Headphones are available for check out at the Circulation Desk.
For help with Wi-Fi, please contact the Reference Desk.
If a library database is not working, please contact the Reference Desk and they will forward your problem to the appropriate staff.
If you'd like to save paper by printing on both sides of the paper and/or by displaying multiple pages on one page, but need help, please contact the Reference Desk.
