Sustainability has evolved from a buzzword to a part of everyday life, and as educational leaders deeply ingrained in our local culture, community colleges have the resources, mission and reach to help steward the environmental future of our regions. Our students, partners and community members count on us to prepare them for a brighter future. An environmentally sustainable way of living and doing business is critical to achieving that goal.

The Waubonsee Community College Ceramics Club is holding the 16th annual pottery sale from December 9 to 12. The sale takes place at the Ceramics Building, located at Route 47 at Waubonsee Drive in Sugar Grove.

Waubonsee Community College’s Music Department will offer a Fall 2015 concert series this month, showcasing the work of their students.

Waubonsee Community College student Rudolf Vierecki’s research project was selected to be presented at the Louis Stokes Midwest Center of Excellence STEM Conference in Indianapolis last month. The selection marked a major recognition of a community college science project.

Waubonsee Community College Dean for Students Dr. Scott Peska was honored as Outstanding Community College Professional at the National Association for Student Personnel and Administrators IV East Regional Conference this month.

Biology, or the study of life, may date back centuries, but that doesn’t keep the Biology Department at Waubonsee Community College from being a model of innovation.
