Waubonsee Community College recently welcomed two new administrators. Robert Barto was hired as Chief Advancement Officer and Amanda Geist is the new Executive Director of Marketing and Communications. The Board of Trustees approved these appointments during their December meeting. They each assumed their roles January 4.
Barto holds a Master of Arts degree in Marketing from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Written Communication/Journalism with a minor in Art from Eastern Michigan University.
He has nearly 20 years of professional experience in non-profit advancement and development work, having worked most recently as the Chief Development Officer for Pan-African Academy of Christian Surgeons. Prior to that, Barto served as the Director of Development/System Services for Advocate Charitable Foundation and the Vice President of Development for Advocate Condell Medical Center for four years. Barto’s previous experience includes Loyola University Health System, University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital and Charitable Foundation, Northwestern University Medical School and Northwestern University Foundation.
Geist holds a Master of Business Administration with a Marketing concentration from Keller Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from North Central College.
She served as the Director of Alliance Marketing at DeVry University since March 2008. In this role, Geist developed and oversaw the execution of comprehensive, multi-platform strategic marketing plans to maximize the impact of new and current partnerships and exceed new student enrollment goals. Geist’s previous roles include Director of Internet Marketing at Enesco, and Manager of Direct Marketing and Marketing Coordinator at FTD.COM.
