The Child Care Worker certificate prepares students to work as teachers, teacher's aides, or other assistants in a variety of early childhood education settings. The coursework aligns with the State of Illinois Department of Children and Family services licensing standards for child care staff, and students with the certificate and the requisite number of contact hours with children may be qualified, subject to the requirements of the individual programs, for positions as early childhood education teachers in licensed facilities.
