2016 International Wood Fire Conference
Waubonsee Community College hosted the 2016 International Wood Fire Conference at its Sugar Grove Campus. The conference was highlighted by the ongoing dialogue about the wood fire process as it relates to the ceramic arts—a dialogue begun at previous conferences in Iowa and Northern Arizona. Three days of robust programming included presentations, activities and events with a distinguished group of accomplished artists sharing their unique and innovative perspectives. Five different ceramic arts exhibitions were on display in galleries on Waubonsee campuses and throughout the city of Aurora. The collection of images from the participating artists provides a look at some of the dynamic ceramic work being created by today's leading artists.
