Educational Benefits
Tuition Waiver Program (Support Staff)
The college provides tuition waivers, an upfront funding of tuition costs for Waubonsee credit classes, for all eligible part-time employees classified as support staff. An eligible employee must have successfully completed two years of continuous employment and be actively employed working a minimum of 20 hours per week as of the first day of the semester. *Additional eligibility requirements apply.
Employee Assistance Plan
The college provides access to BalanceWorks, an enhanced employee assistance program (EAP) for employees and their eligible dependents.
Feature of the EAP:
Immediate Connection to a Qualified Counselor: A 24/7 client-dedicated EAP line connects you to an experienced Behavioral Healthcare Professional for an efficient intake, assessment and referral.
Quality EAP Counseling: Highly focused, confidential and goal-orientated counseling. Individual case management, including follow-up, ensures appropriate and successful treatment.
Work/Life Balance Resources: Services for achieving work/life balance, including child/eldercare resources, financial or legal consultations and referrals through an extensive, nationwide network of specialist.
Personalized Online Resources: Online access to professional, interactive training courses, self-help tools, assessments, and work/life articles and videos to promote personal and professional development.
EAP Case Management Team: eni’s certified staff of clinical professionals has appropriate and in many cases superior credentials and continuing education. The staff is fully trained and dedicated to helping people overcome personal and professional struggles.
Paid Time Off
Regular part-time support staff who work a minimum of 40 hours per pay period will earn PTO benefits after a 90-day waiting period. PTO hours are earned at a rate based on the employee’s years of continuous employment with the college.

Retirement & Savings
State Universities Retirement System (SURS)
The college participates in SURS and all employees, except student workers and those employees that are considered temporary or intermittent, are required to contribute eight percent of their gross pay.* This contribution is a pre-tax deduction. The employer contribution is paid by the state of Illinois. Employees who contribute to SURS do not contribute to the Federal Social Security Program (FICA). General information regarding SURS may be accessed toll free by calling 1-800-ASK SURS (275-7877) or visiting the SURS website.
*Employees hired as Campus Police Officers may be subject to a higher SURS contribution.
Tax Sheltered Annuity Program (403B)
The college provides all employees the opportunity to participate in a Tax Sheltered Annuity Program. The college has pre-approved companies from which employees can choose a tax deferred investment plan. The college does not contribute to these accounts.
