Gary Kecskés, Assistant Vice President of Workforce Development and Adult and Community Learning at Waubonsee Community College, has been selected to serve on the National Advisory Council for Cengage Learning, an international provider of teaching and learning solutions.
In that role, Kecskés, of Sugar Grove, will represent Waubonsee by leveraging his more than two decades of experience in higher education and workforce development to help Cengage craft quality career training programs.
Cengage said it believed Kecskés’ input on the Council would “help us determine the most promising career pathways and viable industries around which we can develop” career training programs.
Waubonsee has partnered with Cengage for more than a decade through the company’s ed2go platform, which provides online learning opportunities for adults. In 2013 Waubonsee was recognized as one of the Top 50 ed2go institutional partners.
Kecskés said he intends to use this opportunity to help create products that benefit Waubonsee’s communities.
The Council met for the first time in January, and more meetings may be held quarterly, Kecskés said.
