Dr. Christine Sobek, President of Waubonsee Community College, has been selected to serve on the board for the Seize the Future Development Foundation in Aurora.
A public/private partnership, Seize the Future works to promote, attract and retain commercial, industrial, retail and mixed use development in the city of Aurora. The foundation provides assistance to existing and prospective businesses, providing community data and help in obtaining available land, buildings for sale or lease, development opportunities and financing.
Sobek said she believes her service on the board will allow Waubonsee to further demonstrate its commitment to support economic development in the Aurora community.
“Waubonsee Community College has been a part of the Aurora community since the beginning of the college’s history,” Sobek said. “We are invested in our economic partnership through the development of a skilled workforce, providing life-long learning opportunities to residents, and as an employer with two campuses located within Aurora. I look forward to continuing this partnership through service on the Seize the Future Development Foundation Board.”
