Waubonsee Community College Campus Police Chief J.C. Paez has been selected to serve as president of the executive board of the Northern Illinois Division Chapter of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy Associates Inc.

The FBINAA serves as a non-profit international law enforcement leadership training and networking organization, open to graduates of the FBI National Academy.

Paez, who has served as Waubonsee’s Campus Police Chief since August 2014, has been a member of the FBINAA since he completed the FBI National Academy course eight years ago while employed as a commander with the Village of Hoffman Estates Police Department.

In his time as an FBINAA member, Paez has served as the Northern Illinois Division Chapter’s sergeant-at-arms, secretary, third vice president, second vice president and first vice president.

He assumed the duties of the divison chapter’s presidency on Jan. 8.

Next year, he will serve as the organization’s past president.

Paez noted the organization enhances law enforcement training throughout the region through monthly training sessions coordinated by the division chapter’s president, with assistance from other board members and personnel from the FBI’s Chicago field office.

“My service will enhance my leadership skills, and will provide us with a vast nationwide network of law enforcement contacts, and a direct link to the FBI Chicago field office and their resources,” Paez said.
