Waubonsee Community College recently announced the appointment of Christine Corrigan to the position of Dean for Online Learning and the Center for Teaching, Learning and Technology (CTLT). The Board of Trustees approved this appointment at their meeting on Jan. 20, and Corrigan will assume the duties of this new position on Feb. 1.
The position is new and requires a strong training and development background, but also a vision for how the college can use instructional technologies to advance teaching and learning.
Corrigan has been employed at Waubonsee since 1998, most recently as the CTLT Manager for the past eight years. In this role, Corrigan has been responsible for budgeting, goal setting and staff supervision, and has led a number of college-wide initiatives including the BlackBoard implementation, Leadership Academy and digital literacy. She has also served as the acting interim manager for the Online Learning department.
Prior to joining the CTLT, Corrigan was the college's Program Development Analyst. Corrigan began her career at Waubonsee as the Assistant Bookstore Manager and after three years transitioned to the role of Textbook Buyer.
Prior to joining Waubonsee, Corrigan began her career in education as a middle school teacher for Lostant Community School District 425, in Lostant, Illinois, where she taught Language Arts and Social Studies. Corrigan holds a Master of Arts in Education from University of Phoenix, Online and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Western Illinois University.
