Waubonsee Community College Campus Police Chief J.C. Paez was recently recognized as Member of the Year 2015 by the Northern Illinois Critical Incident Stress Management Team for exceptional service in support and operation.
The team is made up of trained volunteers from the mental health and emergency professions, and provides immediate comprehensive crisis response interventions and pre-incident stress management education for emergency services personnel involved in a traumatic incident.
Paez has served as the Education Coordinator since 2011 and has been an active volunteer member of the team since 2004. He has served as Waubonsee’s Campus Police Chief since 2014.
“I am extremely honored to have been recognized by my peers as the member of the year,” Paez said. “Serving on the team provides me with an opportunity to give back to the law enforcement profession and to attain my goal of leaving the profession better than when I came into it.”
