University and college partnerships make transferring easy

If you've worked with an advisor or counselor to plan the details of your degree path, you should be able to transfer your Waubonsee credits just about anywhere. However, we have entered into specific agreements and partnerships with certain four-year schools and programs to make it even easier for our graduates to move on and earn a bachelor's degree.

Transfer Partnership Agreements

  • Arizona State University offers Guaranteed general admission to ASU and admission into major of choice if all requirements are satisfied. (Some majors have additional or higher admission requirements. General university admission is guaranteed upon successful completion of an associate degree from Waubonsee with a minimum 2.50 cumulative GPA.
     
  • Aurora University offers Guaranteed Admissions to AU. Any Waubonsee student who has completed an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree with a minimum GPA of 2.25, submits a required application and supporting documentation, and meets all other admission requirements, will automatically be admitted to AU at the junior level and will be deemed to have met AU’s lower division general education requirements.
     
  • Chamberlain University accepts graduates with the Associate of Applied Science in Registered Nursing. They may be awarded up to 77 proficiency credit hours through the Chamberlain University Articulation Plan. This includes 37 liberal arts and sciences credits and 40 nursing credits. Students who enroll in Chamberlain will have their application fee waived as well as a 20% reduction in tuition for the RN to BSN option.
     
  • Chicago State University’s College of Pharmacy Academic Program Articulation Agreement allows for students to matriculate directly into the program after successful completion of 60 successful prerequisite hours that are required for admission and completion of the Associate's Degree requirements at Waubonsee. CSU-COP will guarantee admission for 5 students yearly from Waubonsee, who meet the following requirements. To encourage matriculation, scholarship funds for the top three admitted students will be guaranteed.
     
  • Columbia College Chicago's Guaranteed Transfer Admission Agreement guarantees admission to more than 40 Bachelor of Arts degree programs at Columbia. Also, students who participate in the program will receive a scholarship for their first year of enrollment based on the cumulative grade point average on all transferable courses at Waubonsee.   • Columbia College-Missouri accepts Waubonsee's AA, AS, and AES as satisfying all of their general education requirements. CC-M offers bachelor's degrees at their campus location at Elgin Community College, as well as online. Degrees are offered in business administration, criminal justice administration, interdisciplinary studies, and psychology.
     
  • DePaul University
    • DePaul Admission Partnership Program - You can transfer up to 66 semester hours to DePaul University and must transfer within three years for degree requirements to remain the same. Students are encouraged to complete an associate degree.
    • 2+2 Program Plan for Associate of Applied Science in Computer Software Development to the Bachelor of Science in Information Systems and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (Standard and Web Development Concentrations)
       
  • Eastern Illinois University
    • offers the Panther Pledge offers community college students guaranteed admission to Eastern Illinois University to complete their bachelor’s degree.
    • 2+2 Program Plan for students pursuing the Associate in Science Geography to the Bachelor of Sciene Geography at Eastern. 
       
  • Elmhurst University's agreement and transfer guides
    • Guaranteed Admission Agreement offers Waubonsee students admission to the college upon completion of all general education and admission coursework and a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Elmhurst also offers Dual Enrollment to complete a bachelor’s degree after earning the associate degree at Waubonsee. Per this agreement, students can take one to two Elmhurst courses a year at Waubonsee tuition prices. Both agreements state that upon completion of the associate degree at Waubonsee, students will be accepted at junior status to Elmhurst College. Students who achieve a transferable GPA of 3.5 or higher will be invited to apply to the Honors Program at Elmhurst as well. Students are eligible to transfer into more than 50 undergraduate degree programs at Elmhurst College.
    • for Early Childhood Education students completing the Associate in Science degree to be admitted to the Bachelor of Arts, Educating Young Children degree. Waubonsee Community College students are required to complete an Associate’s degree and meet Elmhurst University admission requirements. Elmhurst gives preference to students with cumulative grade-point averages of 2.50/4.0. Serious consideration will be given to applicants with cumulative grade-point averages between 2.00 and 2.49. The School of Education at Elmhurst University requires a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75 and a separate application process for teacher licensure programs found at elmhurst.edu/eduadmission.
    • for Music Business students completing the Associate in Arts to be admitted to the Bachelor of Arts, Music Business. Elmhurst University will accept students from Waubonsee Community College with an Associate of Arts degree and may transfer up to 70 credits including a required 30 semester hours of major related course work toward the requirements leading to the award of a Bachelor of Arts in Music Business degree from Elmhurst University.   • Franklin University offers 35 Bachelor's, 17 Masters, and 4 Doctoral Degrees. Transfer students with an associate degree will have junior standing. Students may transfer additional credit (up to 94 semester hours). Learn more about Franklin University's Community College Partnerships
     
  • Governors State University Dual Degree Program - To qualify for the DDP, you must be a full-time Waubonsee student who has completed 12-45 credit hours and is in good academic standing. Students must complete their associate degree in five or fewer semesters (plus summers) and plan to pursue a bachelor's degree immediately after graduating from Waubonsee Community College.
     
  • Illinois State University's Redbird Promise offers Illinois community college students guaranteed admission to Illinois State University to complete their Bachelor’s degree. Students must meet all of the requirements outlined to guarantee their admission to Illinois State University.   • Indiana Wesleyan University's College of Adult and Professional Studies and School of Nursing allows for Waubonsee students to transfer with a seamless admission into one of the baccalaureate degree completion programs provided admission criteria is met.
     
  • National-Louis University's Direct to Success program is designed to assist Waubonsee transfer students with finding an affordable, career-focused way to continue their education! D2S students enjoy an exclusive scholarship equal to 25% of total tuition. To be eligible, students must have graduated with their associate degree from Waubonsee and apply to NLU within one year of graduation. 
     
  • North Central College
    • Guaranteed Admission Agreement creates a clear pathway for Waubonsee students to transfer. Students must complete an Associate in Arts or an Associate of Science with a GPA of 2.5 or higher, and submit the Guaranteed Admission Agreement Participation Form
    • Global Articulation Agreement, a shared vision between NCC and Waubonsee to create a more seamless transfer process by: encouraging cross-institutional collaboration among administrators, faculty, and staff; coordinating transfer policies and streamlining equivalencies between the two institutions; facilitating the transferability of coursework; enhancing advising in ways that optimize students’ educational experiences; orchestrating a smooth and efficient transition; removing unnecessary curricular and operational barriers to the recruitment, enrollment, and progression towards graduation; fostering student engagement and success; and providing an affordable pathway to complete the bachelor’s degree in a combined total of 4 years when following the academic plan of study.
       
  • Northern Illinois University agreements and transfer guides
    • Guaranteed Admissions Program - The goal of the Guaranteed Admission Program (GAP) is to create a seamless and transparent admission process for transfer students intending to complete their baccalaureate degree at Northern Illinois University.  The Guaranteed Admission Program allows you the opportunity to be simultaneously admitted to both Northern Illinois University and Waubonsee. As part of the Guaranteed Admission Program, you're eligible to transfer into more than sixty (60) undergraduate degree programs at Northern Illinois University. Admission to Northern Illinois University does not guarantee admission into “Limited Admission” programs.
    • for Kinesiology students completing the Associate of Science degree in Kinesiology at Waubonsee will be admitted to the Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at NIU, provided they meet the requirements stated in the posted transfer guide. All students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in kinesiology are required to have a university GPA of 2.50.
    • for Physical Education students completing the Associate of Science in Kinesiology at Waubonsee will be admitted into the Bachelor of Science in Physical Education at NIU, provided they meet the requirements stated in the transfer guide.
    • a Nursing Partnership agreement, which provides an efficient pathway for students admitted to Waubonsee's Associate in Applied Science in nursing program to pursue direct admission into NIU's RN to BSN program.
    • a Reverse Transfer program where NIU students who transferred from Waubonsee without associate degrees can earn a two-year degree at Waubonsee using credit from NIU courses. Complete this form to participate. 
    • for Sport Management students completing the Associate in Arts in Business at Waubonsee will be accepted into the Bachelor of Science on Sports Management Program at NIU, provided they meet the requirements stated in the transfer guide. 
       
  • Olivet Nazarene recognizes that if a student satisfactorily completes the AA or AS degree, he/she will receive full recognition toward the completion of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Students will have met all general education requirements for graduation from Olivet, except for two upper-division religion courses.
     
  • Purdue University Northwest provides a pathway for completing an associate’s degree program in nursing to move seamlessly to an online RN-to-BSN Bachelor of Science in Nursing at PNW. 
     
  • Roosevelt University - The Direct Enrollment Program (DEP) is a unique partnership between Roosevelt and Waubonsee that provides a direct pathway for highly qualified, full-time students to gain direct admission into Roosevelt's Doctor of Pharmacy program. Learn how a PharmD degree from Roosevelt will help you achieve your goal of becoming a pharmacist.   • Rush University agrees to accept up to five (5) Waubonsee students each year into their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Health Sciences. Students must have completed the Associate in Science degree at Waubonsee prior to transfer. More information can be found on their Health Sciences page
     
  • School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) has a pathway with Waubonsee for students pursuing the Associate in Fine Arts (AFA) degree who are interested in completing the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. 
     
  • Southern Illinois University Carbondale
    • has program agreements in place for students completing Associate in Applied Science degrees for Accounting, Advanced Manufacturing Technology, Automation Technology, Automotive Technology, Business Administration, Computer-Aided Design, and Drafting (Architectural, Design, and Mechanical options), Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic, Fire Science Technology, Nursing, Paralegal, and Welding Technology. Students completing these degrees, if having met the admission requirements for SIU Carbondale, will be considered for acceptance into related Bachelor of Science programs at SIU Carbondale.     • Saluki Step Ahead Online Program allows students to apply to SIU up to two years in advance into one of their eligible online degree completion programs. These programs include Accounting, Business & Administration, Criminology & Criminal Justice, Health Care Management, History, Information Technology, Nursing RN to BSN, and Psychology. Admitted Saluki Step Ahead students would receive an 8-semester pathway, outlining the courses needed to complete these programs (these guides are created by a collaboration of SIU and the community college after opting in). Upon transferring to SIU, students receive a $4,000 per year scholarship ($8,000 total savings) towards their online tuition and fees.
       
  • Southern Illinois University Edwardsville has a Business Administration Pathway Program is for students to be able to obtain a bachelor's degree by attending WCC and then attending SIUE. Upon completion of the curricula requirements agreed upon by both parties, students will qualify for an Associate of Science Degree from WCC and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with the appropriate specialization from SIUE.
     
  • Strayer University has entered into an articulation agreement which states that if a WCC student satisfactorily completes any related associate degree (including the Associate of Applied Science in Automotive Technology (AAS-AUT)) and has a 2.0 cumulative GPA are guaranteed admission to Strayer. All courses required to complete the specific related associate’s degree program will be transferred into the bachelor’s program in their entirety, including “C” and “D” grades, allowing the student to complete a related degree program at SU after approximately two years of continuous, full-time study.
     
  • University of Central Missouri allows students with an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Aided Design and Drafting to transfer to their Bachelor of Science in Design and Drafting Technology program. Students must follow this 2+2 transfer guide to qualify. 
     
  • University of Illinois at Chicago
    • Nursing - the Dual Admissions Pathway allows you to earn an Associate Degree in Nursing at Waubonsee while also enrolling in UIC Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program courses.     • Transfer Admission Guarantee program offers guaranteed admission into UIC for Waubonsee students. Students who actively participate in the TAG Program will receive counseling and benefits that exceed those of a regular transfer student. Best of all, you can rest assured that once you complete your studies at your community college you will have a place at UIC.
       
  • University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign's Engineering Pathways offers students interested in beginning their college education at an Illinois community college a streamlined transfer experience and guaranteed admission to The Grainger College of Engineering at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign upon successful completion of program requirements
     
  • University of Illinois System Transfer Guarantee provides guaranteed admission into any of the University of Illinois System locations through the U of I Transfer Guarantee if they meet requirements. Students who complete all requirements listed on the website are guaranteed admission to the university, not guaranteed admission to a specific college or major. Students must complete the institution’s transfer admissions application during the appropriate filing period for consideration. The student must be pursuing their first bachelor's degree.
     
  • University of Iowa has entered into an articulation agreement with the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB). The agreement allows students who have completed the Associate in Arts degree and who have maintained a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on all graded arts and sciences courses acceptable for transfer to be admitted to the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences but not into other colleges or every liberal arts and sciences major. Beginning in Fall 2022, the Illinois Community College Opportunity Scholarship will be awarded to students who transfer to the University of Iowa within one year of earning their Associate of Art or Associate of Science degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA. This scholarship is available to students who have attended only a community college in the state of Illinois and no other four-year institutions or community colleges outside of Illinois. The award is $7,500 a year for up to two years, or until a student receives their bachelor's degree (whichever comes first). Students must maintain continuous full-time enrollment at the University of Iowa (fall and spring semesters), a minimum 2.0 cumulative UI GPA, and continue to pay nonresident tuition to continue receiving this award. 
     
  • University of Wisconsin-Platteville accepts the Associate in Arts and Science degrees, ensuring that all students wishing to transfer to UW-Platteville will have met all university general education requirements.
     
  • University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's Guaranteed Admissions Program provides a seamless and successful transition for transfer students intending to complete their baccalaureate degree at the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. An Associates in Art or Associate in Science degree from Waubonsee Community College will be considered to have fulfilled all of the UW-Whitewater’s general education requirements with the exception of the U.S. Racial/Ethnic Diversity requirement. Courses that will fulfill both the Waubonsee Community College Diversity requirement and UW-Whitewater Diversity requirement include: SOC 120, ENG 220, and ENG 265.
     
  • Western Governors University offers graduates and staff a five percent tuition discount for up to four academic terms. Graduates of Waubonsee are also able to apply for the WGU Community College Partner Scholarship, valued up to $2,000. For more information, click here.

    • Music Business 2+ 2 - For students pursing the Associate in Arts for Music Business who plan to transfer to WIU's Bachelor of Music in Music Business.
