This first course in mathematics for elementary education majors follows the curriculum standards of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. The focus is on problem-solving strategies and computations using: patterns and sequences, set theory, numeration systems, number theory, and operations with whole numbers, integers, rational numbers, and real numbers. Emphasis is on math content and manipulatives used to teach mathematics in grades K-8. Recommended Coreq, MTH129
Prereq: C or better in MTH069 or MTH070 or MTH072 and MTH075, or placement by appropriate measures
