This course provides a systematic introduction to theory and research on the ways social factors influence individual and group behavior. Key theories and empirical research findings addressed cover the topics of attitudes, social perception, social cognition, the establishment of norms, conformity, leadership, group dynamics and research methods, emphasizing their effects on the individual. Students will have the opportunity to summarize and evaluate research in social psychology with regards to the American Psychological Association ethical guidelines. Student will also apply social psychological findings to real-life examples or social problems. Recommended Prereq, PSY100 or consent of instructor
