Introduction
The Waubonsee Community College FY24 Statement of Work describes the key initiatives that the college will focus on in FY2024 as we advance toward a new, visionary and aspirational strategic plan. We are working on improving our documentation and communication to ensure that, moving forward, all stakeholder groups will have a greater understanding of exactly what we are trying to accomplish and when. We pride ourselves on being a pillar of this community and understand the important role that we play in driving economic growth and creating a more educated and productive workforce.
In biking, protecting your front wheel is critical to maintaining a good pace, a sense of balance, and ensuring the safety of yourself and those around you. As strategic planners, we want to follow that analogy and not get too far ahead of ourselves in a very competitive environment. We want to take our time and gather the necessary information, refine our practices, and ensure that we are prepared for the road ahead.
All of the work that we engage in at the college is critically important to the success of our students. The projects that you see here, however, are the things that we are prioritizing as an organization for the next 12 months. As we continue this work with our community and assess the needs of our stakeholder groups, this time next year, we will be prepared to roll out a strategic plan that will tell you who Waubonsee Community College will be in the future and why. Thank you for your ongoing support of Waubonsee Community College and for helping to make us the top choice for learning in our community.
Key strategic items and focus for FY2024
With a focus on employee and student well-being, three, separate, teams will conduct research, gather data, and make recommendations to the President's Cabinet on a holistic and improved approach to each of these initiatives.
We will implement key strategies to enhance the student experience and positively impact student success. This will include departmental resource allocation and process analysis to ensure efficiencies in how we serve our students.
As part of our commitment to our community, we will invest the time and resources to develop a plan that is relevant and responsive to the current needs and future growth of the college. Part of this process will include an updated Community Needs Assessment and the continuation of a College Master Plan that reimagines spaces for learning, engagement, and development.
