Waubonsee Community College welcomes Dr. Hoitung Terry Leung, of Madison, Wisconsin, to the position of Assistant Dean for Visual and Performing Arts, Education, and Sciences.
“I am very excited about this opportunity to serve our students, faculty, and community,” said Dr. Leung.
Dr. Leung holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry from Ohio State University, a Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology from the University of North Dakota, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa.
Dr. Leung has served as the Instructional Designer and Technologist at Waubonsee Community College since July 2018. He also served as an adjunct faculty member in 2022.
Before joining Waubonsee, Dr. Leung served as a faculty member at the University of Virginia for five years. Dr. Leung also served as a staff member for two years with ACT, Inc., where he was responsible for creating MCAT Chemistry. ACT, Inc. is a nonprofit organization known for the ACT, a standardized test designed to assess high school students’ academic achievement and college readiness.
Dr. Leung began his career in higher education as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Ohio University at Athens and then returned to the Ohio State University system, where he taught for two years.
