Student government provides leadership opportunities for students and a channel of communication between college administrators and the student body. The government leaders sit on many college committees and provide student perspectives and feedback to the college leadership.

Student Senate is governed by a constitution approved by the vote of the student body. Student elections are held in the fall and spring semesters. The senate has open meetings and all students are invited to attend. Students are encouraged to share their ideas, problems, and suggestions by using student senate mailboxes in the Student Life office, located on the Sugar Grove Campus in the Student Center, room 126, or by emailing studentsenate@waubonsee.edu.

The student government leaders were introduced to the college’s board of trustees at its October meeting.
