Waubonsee Community College welcomes Sharon Garcia to the position of Dean for Communications, Humanities, and Arts.
Garcia has served as the Assistant Dean for Communications, Humanities, and Arts since September 2013. Before working at Waubonsee, she worked as the Associate Dean of the Morris Graduate School of Management and as the Director of Graduate Student Advising and Graduate Student Manager at Robert Morris University.
Garcia holds a Master of Arts Psychology in Education degree from Teachers College at Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from North Central College. She is currently working towards a doctorate in Educational Psychology at Northern Illinois University.
The college’s board of trustees approved Garcia’s appointment at their regularly scheduled meeting on April 15. She assumed the duties of the position on March 19.
