The Waubonsee Community College Board of Trustees seated newly elected members at its scheduled meeting on April 25.
Rick Guzman and Tina Willson were elected to 6-year terms on the board of trustees in the consolidated election held on April 2. Guzman and Willson replace Richard “Shorty” Dickson and Dr. Richard Bodie who retired from the board. Also, Greg Thomas was elected to complete the remaining four years of the term that he was appointed to in March 2018.
Guzman is the Executive Director at The Neighbor Project, a housing and community development non-profit organization in Aurora. Prior to that, Guzman served in a variety of positions in local and state government, as well as on numerous boards and commissions working on public policy issues.
Willson is a writer and instructional designer at Advocates for Human Potential, Inc. She has more than 15 years of experience in adult education and training. She has also worked as a grant writer for Mutual Ground, a violence and sexual assault agency.
In addition to welcoming Guzman and Willson, the board elected officers for 2019-2020 as follows:
