Waubonsee Community College welcomes Douglas “Doug” Minter to the position of Vice President of Finance and Administration.

Minter has been employed at Heartland Community College since 1991. His career at Heartland began as an adjunct faculty member. He went on to become a full-time faculty member, Director/Dean of Information Technology Services, Chief Information Officer, and Vice President of Business Services and Institutional Effectiveness. He received the prestigious Illinois Community College Trustees Association Gary W. Davis Ethical Leadership Award in 2019. Before working at Heartland, Minter served as Vice President and also as a faculty member at American Technology University.

Minter holds a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology with a minor in Applied Computer Science, both from Illinois State University.

Minter has experience as an architectural draftsman, a youth and high school hockey coach, and an amateur comedian.

Waubonsee’s board of trustees approved Minter’s appointment at their regularly scheduled meeting on April 15. He will assume the duties of this position on May 18, 2020. In addition, on June 1, 2020 Minter will assume the duties of College Treasurer, Chief Finance Officer, and primary Officer for Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
