Waubonsee Community College will host a Veterans Day observance for the campus and community on Nov. 11.
The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the Academic Professional Center, Room 110, at the Sugar Grove Campus, Route 47 and Waubonsee Drive.
The keynote speaker is Lieutenant Colonel David A. Dosier. Dosier began his military career by enlisting in the Army Reserves in 1987 as a 13B Field Artilleryman. From there, his decades of service included deployments to Korea, Germany, Kosovo, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan and Iraq. He finished his career as a Professor of Military Science at Northern Illinois University, retiring in 2015. He now serves as the Acting Associate Director of the School of Nursing and Health Studies at NIU.
The observance will also include remarks and special performances by Waubonsee faculty, staff and students, as well as participation from the American Legion Post 1271 of Sugar Grove and members of the Waubonsee Community College Veterans Club.
