Waubonsee Community College will host events and activities from 5 to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, May 3 as part of First Fridays in downtown Aurora.
Music students from Waubonsee’s Jazz Combo, Big Band and Chamber Choir will be performing. Also, faculty and students of the college’s English and writing programs will be giving away free copies of Horizons, Waubonsee’s literary journal. The college’s Student Ceramics Club will host an exhibition which will include a ceramics throwing demonstration.
William Estrada, a visiting artist who works with community art projects, will also be there to help attendees make silkscreen t-shirts.
The college’s events will be held at Waubonsee’s Aurora Downtown Campus at 18 S. River St. The art event is free and open to the public. Silkscreened t-shirts will be available while supplies last.
Waubonsee offers many ways and opportunities to learn about and study art and music. There are several art, music and English classes available this summer.
