Waubonsee Community College will host the third event in its Faculty Speaker Series on Tuesday, April 9 at 6 p.m. at the Sugar Grove Campus Auditorium.
Michael Moran, Instructor of Human Services, will discuss the effects of substances on the brain.
Moran holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Roosevelt University and is a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) in the State of Illinois. He has worked in the field of substance use disorder treatment and prevention in a variety of roles since 1981, including 17 years as the Executive Director at Breaking Free, Inc., an outpatient treatment and prevention agency in Aurora, Ill. He has also served in a variety of clinical, supervisory and staff development roles at both outpatient and residential treatment settings, along with volunteering for several nonprofit organizations.
