Waubonsee Community College will host the Midwest’s premier environmental film festival at its Aurora Downtown Campus in March.

The One Earth Film Festival, which is now in its sixth year, will feature a screening of the acclaimed documentary “Hometown Habitat” on Monday, March 6 at 7 p.m. A Q&A with the filmmaker Catherine Zimmerman will follow the screening. The event will take place in Waubonsee’s first-floor Multipurpose Room, 18 S. River St.

The festival runs March 3-12 at locations throughout the greater Chicago area, and this year marks its first expansion into Kane County. That expansion was made possible by a number of Fox River area organizations who are acting as sponsors, and Waubonsee Community College acting as venue host.

Co-sponsors of the March 6 screening will host a Sustainability Resource Fair during the event to provide attendees with information and suggest actions they can take at home and in the community. Light refreshments will be provided.

The screening is free, but a donation of $6 is suggested, and advanced ticket reservations are recommended.
