Waubonsee Community College has appointed Jennifer Schafernak, of Elburn, to the position of full-time Communications Instructor.
Schafernak has worked as an adjunct Communications Instructor at Waubonsee since 2002, and as a full-time temporary Communications Instructor at Kishwaukee College in Malta. She has also taught courses at Northern Illinois University.
Before teaching, she served in various roles coordinating employee training at several companies, including Hollywood Casino in Aurora and College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, from 1991-2000.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in speech communication from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Master of Science in workforce education, also from SIU, and Master of Arts in communication studies from NIU.
