For the next few weeks, the Waubonsee community will be welcome to take in the artwork of some of those who teach the region's aspiring artists.
Beginning this week, the Waubonsee Community College Art Department is hosting its annual Art Faculty Exhibition in the Arrowhead Room gallery in the Dickson Center on the Sugar Grove Campus, Route 47 at Waubonsee Drive.
The exhibit, which will continue until Monday, Feb. 24, will be free and open to the public Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. - 9 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m., closed Sundays.
The faculty exhibition includes a collection of works including paintings and drawings in oil, acrylic, pastel and charcoal, as well as photographs, ceramics and various mixed media, among others.
Faculty with works on exhibit include Sarah Baranski, Danielle Barton, Greg Binder, Wade Duerkes, Emily Franklin, John Fu, Doug Jeppesen, Sherri Lerche, Dan Merkel, Martine Stuckey, Joseph Turner and David Willett. Most of the artwork on exhibit will be available for purchase.
At the same time, the cafe in Waubonsee's Aurora Campus, 18 S. River Street, will exhibit artwork created by Waubonsee student Sara Mueller, of Batavia.
Called “FATE,” the exhibit will be free and open to the public from Jan. 29 - March 19. Café hours are from 7:15 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., Monday-Thursday, and from 7:15 a.m. - 2 p.m. Friday.
