Waubonsee Community College has appointed Bob Cofield, of Aurora, to the position of Dean for Health Professions and Public Service.
“I’m looking forward to leading the continued growth and development of the programs in this division and also excited to be working with such an exceptional group of faculty members,” Cofield said.
In his eight years employed at Waubonsee, Cofield has led efforts to coordinate and implement curriculum programs that have supported the educational pathways for thousands of local high school students. As the Director of School District Partnerships, Cofield oversaw the development of numerous curriculum connections with area high schools and the K-12 school districts within the college’s district. Before that, he served as the High School Partnerships Manager, specializing in the coordination of dual-credit course offerings. Most recently, Cofield served as the Acting Dean for Developmental Education.
Before joining Waubonsee, Cofield was employed as a secondary school teacher at West Aurora School District 129 and District School Board of Collier County in Naples, FL, for 17 years. Cofield also served as the Health and Physical Education Department Chair at Gulf Coast High School in Collier County for seven years.
Cofield holds a Master of Science in Health and Physical Education from Illinois State University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Illinois Wesleyan University.
