The Waubonsee Community College Board of Trustees appointed Anita Moore to the position of Dean for Academic Support. The appointment was made at the board’s regularly scheduled meeting on Jan. 17. Moore assumed the duties of the position on Feb. 21.
Moore has worked in the Illinois community college system for 12 years. Since June 2005, she has served at Heartland Community College in Normal, IL. in the roles of Dean of Student Support Services; Director of Disability Support and Tutoring Services; Director of Disability Support, Tutoring and Testing Services and Director of Disability Support Services. As part of her role at Heartland, Moore chaired the college’s team for college readiness initiatives. In addition, she has five years’ teaching experience as a special education teacher at the K-12 levels.
Moore holds a Master of Education in special education and a Bachelor of Science in education from Auburn University in Alabama.
