The Waubonsee Community College Foundation presented eight students with the John J. Swalec, Jr. President’s Achievement Award. The students were chosen for this award from a pool of 174 qualified applicants. Individual interviews were conducted by a panel of five judges made up of community and business leaders.

  • Kennedy Massie of Aurora
  • Barbara Napolitano of DeKalb
  • Maria Rodriguez of Aurora
  • Joanna Sanchez of Aurora
  • Brittany Smith of North Aurora

The John J. Swalec, Jr. President’s Achievement Awards program is an effort to identify and reward individual student achievement and to honor those individuals who have overcome obstacles on their way to achieving their educational goals. These awards are given to help them attain those goals.
