Waubonsee Community College Student Government elections were held on Sept. 18-21 for the current academic year.
The members of Waubonsee’s 2017-2018 student government are:

- Sandy Orozco, of Aurora; Student Senate Secretary
- Gerardo Caballero Maniquez, of Aurora; Student Senator
- Jonathan Garcia, of Aurora; Student Senator
- Katherine Garcia, of Aurora; Student Senator
- Maria Huizar Regalado, of Aurora; Student Senator
- Mackenzie Larsen, of Elgin; Student Senator
- Taly Ortega, of Aurora; Student Senator
- Allison Rott, of Sheridan; Student Senator
- Jorge Verdin, of Aurora; Student Senator
Student government provides leadership opportunities for students, as well as a line of communication between college administrators and the student body. The government leaders sit on many college committees and provide important feedback to the college leadership.
The members of the student government hosted a get-acquainted reception for the college president and other administrators on Oct. 6 at the Sugar Grove Campus. The student leaders were introduced to the board of trustees at its October meeting.
