NEIU Admissions Agreement

Waubonsee Community College and Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) recently signed a Guaranteed Admissions Agreement. Under the agreement, Waubonsee students who sign up for the program and meet NEIU’s eligibility requirements will be guaranteed acceptance to the university, along with having the application fee waived.

This agreement streamlines Waubonsee students’ paths to more than 50 undergraduate degree programs offered at NEIU. In addition, students may qualify for special transfer scholarships based on associate degree completion and Waubonsee grade point average.

The agreement was officially signed by Waubonsee President Dr. Christine Sobek and NEIU President Dr. Gloria Gibson.

“We work hard to support our students’ success not just here at Waubonsee but also beyond to their transfer institutions and workplaces,” said Dr. Sobek. “Strong transfer agreements are instrumental in that work, and we appreciate NEIU for their collaboration in providing this wonderful new opportunity for our students.”

"I’m so glad we have been able to establish this agreement for the benefit of our students,” said Dr. Gibson. “I was interested in a partnership with Waubonsee for many reasons, but I especially appreciate that we are both Hispanic Serving Institutions [as designated by the Department of Education]. I look forward to seeing how this partnership can continue to grow.”
