Waubonsee Community College invites returning students and members of the community interested in starting classes in the new year to ‘Rev up and Win’ at the college’s upcoming spring registration events. Attendees will receive personal assistance to enroll with ease for the spring semester, get questions answered on the spot, and have the chance to win special prizes. The Registration Rallies will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at the Sugar Grove Campus and Thursday, Nov. 18 at the Aurora Downtown Campus. Each event is from noon to 6 p.m.
In addition, free, walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinics will be offered at each registration rally from 2 to 6 p.m. The clinic will offer participants the option to choose between receiving the first or second Pfizer vaccine, a single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, or a booster shot. No appointments, registration, or insurance are needed. Community members are welcome to attend.
The Pfizer vaccine is for those ages 12 and over. The Johnson and Johnson one-dose vaccine is available for those 16 and over. Parents/guardians must accompany minors. Vaccines for children ages 5-11 are not being offered at these clinics.
During the Sugar Grove and Aurora Downtown Registration Rallies, Waubonsee staff will be on hand to help students choose courses, find financial resources, apply for financial aid, and select an affordable payment plan.
Attendees will enjoy free refreshments and food from local vendors and enter to win prizes, including a laptop. Those registering for credit classes between Nov. 15 and Nov. 19 will be entered in a drawing to win a free class worth up to $500. Mini rallies will also be available at the Aurora Fox Valley and Plano Campuses.
Current semester students are invited to turn in their Registration Rally checklist at the registration events to receive a $25 gift card for gas, while supplies last.
Waubonsee is making it easier for anyone who registers for a spring class with the new Reg Rally Payment Plan. Students who register for a credit class between November 15-30, in person or online, will be eligible for the Reg Rally Payment Plan – just $25 down, no auto pay required. The first payment is due on Dec. 20. Spring courses begin on Tuesday, Jan. 18.
