Chiefs' forward earns national honor by scoring six goals in three matches
Waubonsee Community College’s Reuel Erastus-Obilo was named the NJCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week of September 18 through 24. The Chiefs’ striker scored six goals to help Waubonsee win all three of its’ matches to improve to 9-2 overall on the season. Erastus-Obilo had a goal in the Chiefs’ 4-2 win over Moraine Valley on Tuesday, booked a ‘hat trick’ in Waubonsee’s 5-3 triumph at Kankakee on Thursday, and then tallied two more scores in a 5-3 win over Southwestern (IA.) Community College on Saturday. A 6’2” 205-lb. sophomore from Waubonsie Valley High School, Erastus-Obilo currently has a dozen goals and three assists on the season. The native of Great Britain has rebounded this fall after a knee injury ended his freshman year midway through the season. When Erastus-Obilo has been on the pitch for Waubonsee the last two seasons, the Chiefs have gone 21-3-1 with him scoring 21 goals and recording seven assists.
