The American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) has appointed Dr. Toya Webb, Chief of Staff and Vice President of Strategy at Waubonsee Community College, as one of 24 commission members to serve a three-year term on the National Commission on Institutional Infrastructure and Transformation.

As a member of this commission, Dr. Webb will be involved in crucial efforts to enhance student success across Waubonsee and other community colleges nationwide through transformation initiatives, including refining administrative processes, advancing infrastructure, and improving technology and human resource capabilities.

“I am deeply honored and elated to have been selected to serve on the American Association of Community Colleges Commission on Institutional Infrastructure and Transformation,” said Dr. Webb. “This appointment presents a tremendous opportunity for me to work alongside my colleagues to leverage our collective expertise in reimagining the framework through which our colleges can better serve our students. I am truly excited to contribute my insights and passions towards the advancement of our shared mission."

Dr. Webb’s extensive background and achievements reflect her commitment to higher education and community college advancement. As Waubonsee’s Chief of Staff and Vice President of Strategy, Dr. Webb leads several key departments, including Institutional Effectiveness, Marketing and Communications, and the Office of the President, along with having key responsibilities in government relations and strategic planning.

Dr. Webb also has experience as an adjunct faculty member, is a Peer Reviewer for the Higher Learning Commission, and sits on the Board of Directors for the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations, which serves community college professionals. She is a recipient of numerous awards, including a YWCA Leadership Award in Communications and Technology, the Kane County Chronicle “Best Under 40” award, and an American Association for Women in Community Colleges 40 under 40 award. Additionally, Dr. Webb is a graduate of the prestigious Thomas A. Lakin Institute for Mentored Leadership and the League for Innovation Executive Leadership Institute.  

AACC is the primary advocacy organization for the nation’s community colleges. The association represents more than 1,000 two-year, associate degree-granting institutions and nearly 12 million students.
