Nominations are being accepted for Waubonsee Community College’s 2019 Distinguished Contributor and Distinguished Alumnus awards.

The start of the calendar year is a natural time to start new things. Many people start the year with a list of resolutions or life enhancements that they want to accomplish. These personal goals are almost always good and worth accomplishing and are designed with the best intentions. Even with all of these strengths at the beginning, these new year resolutions often end up unresolved. 

Waubonsee Community College will host a recurring speaker series beginning in February. The events will feature Waubonsee faculty members speaking on topics pertaining to their academic interest and research.

Classes will begin soon, but there is still time to register for the spring term at Waubonsee Community College.

A Waubonsee Community College faculty member has been recognized by the American Association of Community Colleges.

Dani Fischer, Associate Professor of Biology, was awarded the 2019 Dale P. Parnell Faculty Distinction Recognition. This award recognizes individuals who make a difference in the classroom.

Two members of the Waubonsee Community College Board of Trustees plan to retire at the end of their current terms in April 2019.

Waubonsee Community College is offering a new humanities class starting in the spring 2019 semester.

The operating room can be an intimidating place. Most people do not know what to expect when the doors to the operating room open, and most people have not heard of my profession and the role we play in surgery. 

Surgical technologists help the doctor, as well as the patient. 

Waubonsee recognizes the professional and academic accomplishments of its faculty and staff.

The student body at Waubonsee Community College is made up of many students with different backgrounds and stories. As a former competitive rugby player, Anthony Bisogni planned to play rugby professionally until he received an injury which prevented him from pursuing that dream. At that point, he decided to go to college.
