This course provides an introduction to the guidelines, rules and terms for the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and the Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services' Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) classification systems. The applied approach of this course will teach students how to construct procedural codes for services provided by outpatient facilities, physicians and other healthcare professionals. Repeatable to a maximum of 12 semester hours; 3 semester hours may apply to a degree or certificate. Prereq, C or better in BIO260 and HIT110
