The Adult Literacy Project at Waubonsee Community College is seeking volunteers to tutor adult students in reading, writing and speaking English.
The Adult Literacy Project provides all training and materials at no charge. Participants have two options for training – a two-day class or an online, self-paced training. The class will be held on Saturday, March 18, and Saturday, March 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, at Waubonsee’s Aurora Downtown Campus, 18. S. River Street.
Prospective tutors must complete training before working with adult learners individually or in a classroom. Participants must register for the training by contacting amunoz@waubonsee.edu or calling (630) 801-7900, ext. 4661. Tutor applications are available online at www.waubonsee.edu/adultliteracy.
