This course explores the special needs of clients that are diagnosed with both a substance use disorder and a psychiatric disorder and provides students with an understanding of the complexities of working with this population. Students will develop an understanding of the use of the diagnostic criteria in current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) and will become familiar with the principles of integrated treatment utilized when working with people with co-occurring disorders. Prereq, C or better in HSV120
