Driver Safety First Road Sign Clouds

Waubonsee Community College, in partnership with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) North Aurora Area Office, will host a Safety Day on March 14 in the Academic and Professional Center on the Sugar Grove Campus, Route 47 at Waubonsee Drive.

According to the National Safety Council, workplace injuries cost companies $180 billion each year and there is an average of 10 fatalities and 14,000 injuries in workplaces every day. The purpose of OSHA Safety Day is to give employers an opportunity to learn more about how to make their workplaces safer, increase their companies’ productivity, and reduce costs.

This all-day seminar is held every other year in March. This year’s event will feature more than 20 experts presenting information on critical safety issues, including the most common OSHA safety violations, conducting workplace safety inspections and the cultural barriers to training in a diverse workforce among many others. All of the speakers for the event are experts in safety across various industries.
