Explore health care, tech majors, and other programs designed to kick-start your career at Waubonsee’s Open House events this spring. The Health Care Programs Open House will take place at the Aurora Fox Valley Campus on Saturday, March 23 from 10:30 a.m. to noon, followed by the Tech Programs Open House at the Plano Campus on Wednesday, April 3 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. These free events are open to the public.

Sugar Grove – In observance of Women's History Month in March, Waubonsee Community College will host a series of events to acknowledge and recognize women's significant role in American history and their contributions to society. These programs celebrate the achievements of women while recognizing the struggles they have faced throughout history. Admission to all events is free of charge and open to the public.
Waubonsee’s High-Demand Summer Online Courses Help Students Near and Far
This summer, students who want to get ahead in their studies and continue toward graduation can take advantage of Waubonsee's high-demand summer courses, which are available at 40% of the cost of similar courses offered at four-year colleges. More than 145 courses are offered, most of which are transferable general education courses.

Nick DiVito and Myles James, who are currently excelling in their first year as Automotive Technology students at Waubonsee, initially did not consider attending college after graduating high school. During their senior year at Yorkville and Sandwich High Schools, they attended half-day classes and spent the other half at the Indian Valley Vocation Center (IVVC). They shared a common interest in cars but had different ideas for their careers. James planned to enter the workforce immediately, while DiVito was considering attending trade school.
Power Restored to Waubonsee’s Sugar Grove Campus; Normal Operations Resume on Feb. 28
Sugar Grove – On Tuesday, Feb. 27 after 7 p.m., a heavy storm hit the Sugar Grove Campus, causing a power outage across campus and other damage.
Jaquez Appointed to Fill Waubonsee Board Vacancy
At the February regular meeting of the Waubonsee Community College Board of Trustees, Daniel Jaquez, CISA, CDPSE, CRISC, of Yorkville, was appointed a member and will serve until the next consolidated election in April 2025. This appointment fills the seat vacated at the end of December by Jimmie Delgado, of Oswego. At Delgado’s last meeting on Dec. 13, the board adopted a resolution recognizing him for his commitment, dedication, and years of distinguished service.
Waubonsee Announces 2024-2025 Tuition Rates
The Waubonsee Community College Board of Trustees has approved tuition rates for the 2024-2025 academic year. Beginning with the fall 2024 semester, the college’s in-district and online tuition rate will increase just over 2 percent, from $135 to $138 per credit hour. The student fee will remain the same at $8 per credit hour.
