Exploring Creativity Through Studio Art

Students are drawn to art for myriad reasons—and whatever that motivation is, studio art generates an appreciation for core artistic abilities, expands understanding of human expression, and even complements personal and professional endeavors no matter where life takes you.

In studio art, students work with a variety of media, such as charcoal, pastels, watercolors, acrylics, oils, clay, plaster, photography and computers. Through these creative outlets, students can explore art theory and practice, and expand their technical skill and aesthetic sensitivity.

The department is led by dedicated teachers and practicing artists, with designated classrooms for focused use including painting, drawing and design studios, traditional and digital photography labs, a ceramics studio and kiln yard.
