Fundamentals of Acting I (THE201)

This course introduces the beginning actor to acting theories that include but are not limited to the methods of Cohen, Grotowski, Meisner, Stanislavski, Brecht, Shurtleft and Gister. Stage terms, stage movement, character development, improvisation, memory and scene work make up the major content of the course. Emphasis is also given to the development of observation, sense and emotion memory, focus and concentration.
